Malum
Part of Night of the 1000 Knives
Officer Will Lauren saves several women from the clutches of a murderous cult. Soon thereafter, he runs amok at the police station, killing himself. Exactly one year later, his daughter Jessica starts her first nightshift in said, now defunct, station to get to the bottom of this atrocity. The shift turns into a nightmare. Apart from the sexism and resentment of her colleagues, grotesque phone calls, and a hog covered in occult symbols at the doorstep, Jessica begins to see things that aren’t even there. Or are they? After Last Shift from 2014, Anthony DiBlasi puts another log on the fire with this sinister jump-scare-fare—a more polished reboot. (me)
