Samidha has Indian roots. She wants one thing most of all in her predominantly Caucasian high school: not to stand out. When a fight breaks out with her former best friend, the tradition-conscious Tamira, the latter drops a closed vessel, which shatters. The Indian demon that had been locked inside escapes and takes possession of the girl. Samidha must gain a deep knowledge of her culture to save Tamira. In his first feature film, Bishal Dutta blends autobiographical elements with juicy horror tropes to create a top-notch ghost-train ride. (mk)
