Nightman
Nightman | Mélanie Delloye | BE 2023 | 101 Min
| DCP
Alex couldn’t have wished for a better husband, but as soon as they move into his parental cottage on the edge of an Irish forest, something sinister seems to awaken in Damien. He has severed all ties with his mother, who has dementia and lives in a nearby nursing home, and begins to sleepwalk out of the house at night. When Alex tells him about it, he dismisses her claims as figments of her imagination. So, she decides to follow him on his next nocturnal excursion. Mélanie Delloye’s directorial debut Nightman is a delicately woven psycho-thriller with precisely paced folk-horror elements and brilliant performances by Zara Devlin and Mark Huberman. (me)
