Jules is a drag artist living in London. After one of his shows, he is ambushed and injured by a group of men. Months later, he spots one of his attackers in a gay sauna and begins to date him, at first with the ulterior motive of getting revenge. But the closer Jules and Preston grow, the more difficult it is for the former to put his plan into action. Carried by the stellar performances of Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and George MacKay, Femme is an unsettling romance staged as an engrossing, perfectly timed revenge thriller, situated in the identity maelstrom of our present day. What a show! (mk)
